Cheung to Discuss "Shattering the Bamboo Ceiling" at 25th Annual
NAAAP Convention
Cambridge-- City Councillor Leland Cheung will join State Representative Tackey Chan, California State Senator Ted Lieu and Boston City Council candidate Suzanne Lee for a panel discussion about the rise of Asian Americans in politics at the annual National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) 25th national convention on Friday, August 12. Previously Cheung served as the Executive Vice President of NAAAP, a position that allowed him to aid in furthering Asian American representation in top ranking jobs.
For the past 25 years, NAAAP has established itself as one of the top
organizations committed to advancing and connecting Asian American
professionals, Cheung said. ³This is one of the many wonderful
reasons why I became a part of NAAAP and it is a great honor and
privilege to join other esteemed political figures to discuss the
increasing number of Asian Americans shattering the bamboo ceiling and
breaking into politics.
NAAAP is the fastest growing Asian American organization in North
America and has made great strides to promote Asian American
professionals and leaders of tomorrow by cultivating leadership
skills, career building strategies and networking among the Asian
American community. For more information about the NAAAP convention,
