National Celebrations Allow Supporters to Share President Obama’s 50th Birthday
Boston-- On Thursday, August 4th , Leland Cheung joined special guests former
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and Deputy Campaign Manager Jennifer
O’Malley Dillon to celebrate President Obama’s 50th birthday party at Towne
Stove and Spirits. Eager Bay Staters sold out the event for a chance to be a part of
President Obama’s 50th birthday party and were visited by him via a live-streamed
video conference in Chicago, where he celebrated with family, colleagues and close
friends.
Along with other young elected officials on the host committee, Cheung was
instrumental in making the celebration a success. “It was impressive to see the high
number of energetic, loyal supporters who wanted to share in the President’s 50th
birthday celebration,” Cheung said. “It really demonstrates how eager many people
of all ages are to celebrate a milestone for a President who has done so much to
reenergize the voting base and get people involved with government.”
The event was sponsored by Gen 44, an organization started by the DNC to
empower the next generation of Democratic leaders. Cheung is proud to work
with groups like Gen 44 and seeks to call youth interested in preserving democracy
through civic involvement and participation in government to action.
