JULY 1, 2011 - IN ONE DAY RECORD, CITY COUNCILLOR CHEUNG MEETS SIGNATURE DEADLINE NEEDED TO GET ON THE NOVEMBER 8TH BALLOT.
CAMBRIDGEThis past Friday, City Councillor Leland Cheung spent the day talking with Cambridge residents and collected a hundred signatures required to get on the ballot as his re-election campaign surged forward. The Cambridge Election Commission made nomination papers available at 8:30 AM Friday morning. Councillor Cheung was the first candidate to pick up nomination papers. Leland and his campaign volunteers spent the day talking with Cambridge residents on a mission to collect the signatures required to get on ballot for the election on November 8th.
A few minutes before the Cambridge Election Commission office closed, Leland Cheung was the first to return a hundred signatures. "We set a goal for ourselves to bring back signatures the same day nomination papers became available; the team had a fun time running around to make it happen." Cheung said. Cheung was first elected to the Cambridge City Council in 2009 and seeks re-election for a second term. He looks to build on the success of his last campaign.
